This post is a little different because I’m usually trying to write a few paragraphs to encourage you. Today, I have a whole e-book full of encouragement and hope for my fellow work-at-home moms (WAHM). It’s something I had worked on a couple of years ago and this year, I decided to dust it off and completely update it. And the best part is – it’s FREE! Continue Reading
This is not the end…It’s the beginning
Those simple words that I heard yesterday went deep into my soul. They spoke to me on so many levels of life right now. Do you ever feel like you should be much further along in life than you are? Like if you’re in your late 20’s, you should be settled on your career path already. Or if you’re single and in your 30’s, you should be married with kids by now. If you’re in your 40’s, you should be established in your home, career, and family with a growing retirement account and a sense of security in who you are. If you aren’t meeting those “milestones”, it can be easy to feel like it won’t ever happen, or that your dreams are moving farther and farther away from you. This is especially true if you find yourself in the process of starting over in any area of your life.
When Your Story Isn’t Pretty…
All of us have a story. Sometimes, the only part of someone’s story that we see is the pretty part. That part where they are successful, happy, healed, and whole. We see the business owner who is making good money, vacationing and living the life they want; but we didn’t see the years of struggle or the 80 hour work weeks during the building phase. We see the author who breaks through and has a best seller; but we didn’t see the days when the words wouldn’t come, the rejection letters, the pages tossed in the trash. We see the happy mama with her kiddos all smiling and obedient; but we didn’t see the tears she shed at night or the hours spent on her knees in prayer. Continue Reading
My Journey to Being a Work-at-Home, Homeschooling Mom
When people find out that I’m a single mom, homeschooling my kids, and working full time from home running my own business, I usually get a lot of questions. They want to know what I do, how I do it, how I organize myself, etc. Just this week I was talking with someone and she said, “I talk to people all the time who do fascinating things for a living. You’re the first person I’ve ever talked to who is making a living selling online.” I am part of so many selling groups I forget that what I do is still a relatively foreign concept to most people. I hope sharing my story encourages you that there is so much opportunity to make the life you want. Take off those limits you’ve placed on yourself (or that others have placed on you) – You can do it! Continue Reading
Finding Your Voice
I don’t know if I’m done with the character series yet or not, but this is something that I’ve been thinking about for weeks, months really, and just wanted to share it with you. After talking with friends, it seems to be something lots of people struggle with, and while I wish I could say I have it all figured out, I don’t. I’m working on it. But if we wait until we have it all figured out before we share and encourage someone else, then we’d never do it. So here’s a snapshot into my journey to find my voice and I hope it speaks to your heart and opens your eyes to how vital your voice is to those around you. Continue Reading
